Punk Hair FAQ

Ruadhán McElroy (pronounced like “Rowan” — it’s Irish) is an old-school deathrocker/gothic-punk who’s had all kinds of hair cuts and styles. It’s been auburn (his natural colour), black, blue-black, RED!, SpFX Atomic Pink, MP Plum Passion, MP Raven, blue (brand and shade forgotten) and stark white. He once left bleach on long enough to make his hair crumble off, but has thankfully learned to never do that again!

He started the “mohawked_people” LJ community in 2002 as an effort to find more people who had Mohawks and trade ideas with people on how to stand the hair up and what-not. Since then, he’s created the Mohawk FAQ to house tutorials written by he and others. The Punk Hair FAQ was created to host tutorials that involved more than just Mohawks.

He currently lives and works in Ann Arbor, MI as an artist and occasionally a freelance writer and is currently saving up his money for reconstructive surgery and other medical expenses. Despite this, he remains as politically active as possible and is a staunch Socialist with a special interest in GLBT rights.

Largely due to being almost blind and three inches too tall to be legally recognised as a midget in the United $tates, his hair is, was and probably always will be his best feature.
